These projects was a foray into creating workflows in the use of motion capture performances, custom renderman shaders while integrating the use of Massive for crowd simulation and AI controls. The beginning of the project started with the test of textures both experimented with in RSL and Vray while the resultant was integrated into a simple animated project comprising of about 11 days work on limited resources. While not perhaps flawless, it was a good experience that could possibly be further worked on in future. These projects comprises of work completed with Ali Seffouri and motion capture performances completed by Joseph Wintersteen.

The Journey of a Comet |

The journey of a comet was an experimental project which I had completed during my spare time in SCAD. The use of 3d stereoscopic technology was just growing and I had wanted to obtain some experience in the subject... thus I had created this short visualization of a comet's formation as it enters the orbit of our solar system, as scientific visualization seems to be the most popular most successful area in this subject. However instead of parallel cameras, I had decided to use co-axial ones instead. This project allowed me to understand the flaws and workflows of stereoscopic production in Maya, 3dsMax and Nuke; while also allowing me the chance to play around with the actual setup of stereoscopic projectors using polarizing lens and special projection screen medias.

Enroute was one of the few collaboration projects from which I had aided whilst my studies in SCAD, under the supervision of VFX supervisor/compositor Sandro Blattner and student Director Colin Levy. My work with this project mainly involved concept, visualization and matte painting. The shot of which I waas asked to handle included projecting and creating a complete 3d environment set for the plane crash scene where moving vehicles, inefficient tracking markers, low framerate cycles and camera distortions made digital tracking ineffective for a shot that requireds both near and far focal zones to be equally important. For these, I created a 20k resolution matte painting and digital set and then placed all 4 pre-filmed vehicles on set. The scene was then used to place 3d plane debris and fire for the final shot.
Unfortunately as this short film has not been properly released, only a teaser trailer is available for viewing for now.
